Gantry cranes and overhead cranes are both types of lifting devices. They can both be used for lifting and lowering operations and can either be manually or electrically operated.

Portable gantry systems provide the ideal alternative to overhead cranes, as they are easy to transport and can fit into areas limited by space where other bulky gantry systems or overhead tracks cannot be used.
